PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Accountable for strategy creation and tactic implementation of responsible category, with goals to drive sales, optimize margin, manage inventory, and negotiate for marketing and brand support. The role requires a customer-centric mindset and strive to consistently create unique assortments and experiences for customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Commercial

  • Fully accountable for driving sales of responsible category

  • Regularly review commercial performance (e.g. But not limited to: sales, inventory level, margins...) to reiterate department ranging

  • Strategic assortment planning

  • Drive and close negotiations with new suppliers on products, placement, pricing, promotions, brand supports

  • Create calendar to strategic promote products by season, holiday, event etc…

  • Design commercial plan according to company goals, and implement

  • Participate in recruiting vendors to onboard new projects

  • Be ahead of industry, research on relevant new trends/brands and implement

  • Work closely with Operations, Marketing, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely product placements

  • Maintain positive relations with suppliers

 

Operations

  • Conduct regular store visits for responsible markets

  • VM guidance for responsible category

  • New brands and product trainings to sales staff

  • Cascade promotion programs, in partnership with Marketing, to sales staff

 

People

  • Close communication with regional and global stakeholders

  • Manage internal and external communication at Country level

  • Respectful communication approach, ensuring professionalism and compliance with local legal requirements

  • Ensure understanding and adherence to company policies and procedures

 

 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related disciplines;

  • 5-7 years of retail experience with at least 3 years experience in a management role;

  • Knowledge branded consumer goods and consumer mindset;

  • Multi-category understanding

  • Experience in growing businesses;

  • Exceptional strategic thinker and change strategist;

  • Excellent negotiation skills;

  • A good team leader and player, supporting and encouraging team members to perform well;

  • Fluent in English, Other languages would be considered an asset

  • Based in Hong Kong
