In Türkiye, Avolta operates Duty Free and F&B stores at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, along with Duty Free stores at Kayseri and Çukurova Airports.

For the role we are recruiting for, the position will provide corporate-level support across all these operations.

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join our team as a Country Commercial Category Unit Manager, based at İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To lead supplier negotiations and manage all purchasing activities; secure stock turnover, availability, and profitability; follow trends based on passenger profiles; and drive commercial growth for the Perfume & Cosmetics category. Actively support the planning and implementation of new store concepts, and provide category proposals and budgets.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organize and coordinate sourcing activities with suppliers for the Perfume & Cosmetics category.

• Lead negotiations, structure meetings, prepare negotiation documentation, and manage agreements.

• Ensure targeted stock turnover, supply continuity, profitability, and adherence to margin objectives.

• Monitor sales, inventory levels, margins, SKU mix, pricing, and overall commercial performance.

• Plan and manage the promotion calendar; oversee campaign visuals, implementation, and results.

• Identify new brands and products; drive business development aligned with category strategy.

• Track market trends, competitor activities, pricing, assortment, and beauty/fashion trends; recommend actions.

• Support new store openings and new concept implementations with the project team.

• Manage discontinued items, stock depletion, and liquidation programs according to guidelines.

• Communicate with Supply Chain to place orders, set pricing, and ensure availability.

• Prepare category performance reports and present commercial insights to management.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations in all agreements.

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; follow up on open topics and resolve issues.

• Collaborate with Operations to develop store‑level sales strategies and action plans.

• Provide relevant category knowledge to internal and external stakeholders, including airport authorities.

• Support capability development and performance of team members.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in a relevant field.

• Excellent command of English (spoken & written)

• Minumum 5 years experience in category management, buying, or product management — preferably in Perfume & Cosmetics

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills

• Commercial mindset with strong understanding of trend dynamics

• Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong teamwork ability; supportive, helpful, and collaborative

• Experience in supplier and supply‑chain processes (preferred)

• Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint; ERP/SAP experience

• No travel restrictions
