PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Global Category Management Demand Planning Specialist supports the Produce category at a global level, driving accurate demand forecasting, sales and stock performance analysis, and effective inventory management across a multi‑site retail environment. The role partners closely with Buying, Local Operations, and Finance to support seasonal Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) planning, optimize financial performance, manage stock risks, and improve forecasting accuracy through data‑driven insights and statistical modeling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and analyze financial KPI reports covering sales, margin, and stock positions
- Generate regular management reports to support KPI reviews and decision‑making
- Support Buying and Local Operations in seasonal demand forecasting for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter Open‑to‑Buy (OTB)
- Monitor terminal, slow‑moving, and obsolete stock positions and proactively highlight risks
- Propose cost initiatives and support provision accruals related to stock obsolescence
- Support liquidation programs and the planning cycle for obsolete stock
- Ensure outlet clearance targets are aligned with financial expectations
- Support day‑to‑day demand control and forecasting using statistical forecast models
- Contribute to continuous improvement of demand planning and stock management processes
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in retail planning, demand planning, or category support (preferably merchandising)
- Previous experience within a multi‑site retail or global department organization
- Desirable: Experience in logistics, supply chain, or supply and demand planning
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
- Results‑driven with a focus on financial and stock performance
- Agile mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Project management skills with the ability to coordinate across stakeholders
- Collaborative and facilitative working style
