PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Global Project Manager will lead the end‑to‑end deployment of Smart Store technology solutions across retail stores worldwide. This role is responsible for orchestrating cross‑functional delivery, ensuring successful implementation in diverse markets and owning the product roadmap to drive continuous improvement and innovation. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and a deep understanding of retail operations within a complex, fast‑paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Technology Deployment
- Leads and coordinate the rollout of digital and in‑store technology across global locations (current focus for the role: clienteling / smart lockers)
- Manages project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on‑time and high‑quality delivery
- Collaborates with regional teams, store operations, IT, digital and vendors to ensure seamless deployment
- Develops / maintains standardized deployment methodologies, documentation and playbooks
Product Roadmap Ownership
- Owns the strategic product roadmap for smart store technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer experience priorities
- Gathers business requirements, customer insights, and operational feedback to prioritize enhancements
- Partners with vendor, IT, digital, regional teams and operations to define release plans and ensure successful feature delivery
- Tracks product performance (using / developing dashboards), adoption and ROI to support data‑driven decision‑making.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Acts as the primary point of contact for global and regional stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and alignment.
- Manages external vendors and technology partners, including Statement of Work definition and negotiation, delivery oversight, and service-level adherence.
- Facilitates cross-functional steering meetings, status updates, and project governance forums
Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Identifies and mitigates risks across deployment activities, escalating issues proactively
- Ensures technology solutions meet all compliance, data privacy and operational requirements in every market
- Oversees testing, pilot programs, and quality assurance processes to ensure successful launches
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Analyzes operational performance and market trends to recommend future product enhancements.
- Drives process improvements to increase deployment efficiency and reduce cost or complexity.
- Champions new technologies and digital capabilities to elevate customer experience and store performance.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Relevant bachelor degree
- 3-5+ years of project or program management experience, ideally within retail, travel retail, or consumer-facing environments
- Proven track record of delivering global technology deployments or digital transformation initiatives
- Experience managing product roadmaps or working closely with product management teams
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills in a multinational context
- Familiarity with a wide range of technologies deployed across retail - POS, retail operations systems, mobile apps, or in‑store digital technologies
- Detailed knowledge of Agile principles and practices and the ability to adjust them as needed in the right proportions to fit a project/initiative and business environment
- Experience of using JIRA for project management
- Exceptional communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills
