PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Global Head of Internal Communications, Culture & Engagement will serve as the strategic architect and voice of Avolta’s internal communications, as well as its various Culture & Engagement initiatives. This role is responsible for aligning internal messaging with corporate objectives, deepening employee engagement, and fostering a unified culture that reflects Avolta’s brand and values globally. The position holder will also coordinate initiatives with the External Communications department and regional Culture & Engagement Leaders. The role is based in Basel, Switzerland.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Advisory

  • Develops and drives a global internal communications strategy that enhances employee engagement and aligns teams with Avolta’s purpose and brand identity using various tools and channels such as Beekeeper, E-Mail, etc
  • Drives the Culture & Engagement initiatives for the company globally and oversees regional and local initiatives
  • Manages the Culture & Engagement Steering Committee of the Company
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to the Chief People, Organization & Culture Officer, other Executive Members, as well as senior leaders, guiding them on effective internal communication practices and Culture & Engagement Initiatives
  • Oversees internal brand alignment, ensuring consistency in messaging and fostering a shared corporate identity
  • Works closely with the Chief People, Culture and Organization officer and the CFO on annual reports and other company relevant documentation

Content, Storytelling & Engagement

  • Develops and manages a global internal communications as well as Culture & Engagement content calendar with culturally relevant and compelling messaging and actions
  • Utilizes storytelling to amplify Avolta’s achievements, customer impact, and employee success stories
  • Creates innovative two-way communication channels, such as digital town halls and feedback platforms, to strengthen engagement

Leadership & Change Communication

  • Partners with executive leaders to cascade key messages and navigate organizational change communications as well as Culture & Engagement initiatives and messaging
  • Provides tools and training to leaders for clear, empathetic, and effective communication
  • Supports Culture, Engagement and Sustainability initiatives by integrating them into internal narratives and employee engagement efforts

Digital Innovation & Transformation

  • Implements and optimizes digital communication platforms to connect the global workforce in real-time
  • Leverages data-driven insights to measure engagement and continuously improve communication strategies
  • Maximizes the use of Avolta’s intranet and explores emerging digital solutions for internal communications
  • Drives, analysis and implements action plans resulting from culture engagement surveys and EDGE certification

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Fluent in business English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, journalism, business, or a related field
  • 10 years of experience in internal communications, with a strong background in global communication strategies within multinational organizations
  • Strong track record in culture & engagement initiatives and topics from creation to implementation
  • Proven ability to develop and execute high-impact internal communication strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Expertise in managing large-scale change initiatives, keeping employees engaged and informed during transformation
  • Strong executive presence and ability to build trusted relationships with senior leadership, providing strategic communication counsel
  • Deep understanding of cultural variances in communication styles, with experience unifying messaging across global regions
  • Ability to simplify complex topics into clear, engaging, and inspiring messages for diverse audiences
  • Knowledge of and eagerness to leverage digital communication platforms to enhance employee engagement
  • Highly collaborative and solutions-oriented, with experience working across departments and regions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
