PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the Global Category Hermes Retail Analyst & Planner, you will play a key role in driving commercial performance through best-in-class forecasting, inventory optimization, and demand planning activities. Acting as a strategic business partner to the Hermes category team, you will ensure the right products are available at the right time and in the right locations to maximize sales opportunities, enhance customer experience, and support business growth.
This role combines analytical excellence with commercial acumen, translating complex data into actionable insights that improve stock efficiency, forecast accuracy, and overall retail performance across the Hermes business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop accurate short, medium, and long-term sales forecasts by category, store, and collection to support commercial decision-making.
- Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) planning in close collaboration with the Demand Planning team, ensuring optimal stock levels, inventory targets, weeks of supply, and replenishment flows.
- Monitor and analyze sales trends, seasonality, customer purchasing behaviour, and store performance to continuously refine forecasts and planning assumptions.
- Partner closely with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and Retail Operations teams to ensure product availability and inventory efficiency across the network.
- Support new product launches, seasonal initiatives, and store openings through tailored forecasting and planning activities.
- Drive initiatives to improve stock rotation and contribute to inventory ageing reduction plans.
- Analyze inventory levels and recommend stock transfers, replenishment actions, and best-seller allocation strategies in coordination with store management teams.
- Produce and maintain reporting dashboards and key performance indicators, including sell-through performance by métier, stock cover, weeks of supply (WOS), forecast accuracy, and inventory productivity metrics.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, reporting enhancements, and inventory optimization to support sustainable business growth.
- Provide data-driven recommendations and insights to stakeholders, enabling proactive and informed business decisions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related analytical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Retail Planning, Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, or a similar analytical role within luxury, premium retail, or consumer goods environments.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and transform them into actionable business recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Business Intelligence tools; knowledge of PowerPoint and data visualization tools is considered an advantage.
- Proven experience managing forecasting processes, inventory planning, and stock optimization activities.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and international teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and performance-driven environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to interact with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
