PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Data Scientist Specialist will leverage advanced analytics and data science to unlock insights that drive strategic decisions and operational excellence across Avolta’s global IT landscape. This role is pivotal in transforming complex data into actionable intelligence, enabling innovation and supporting the company’s vision of revolutionizing the travel experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify emerging analytic trends, data needs, and innovative solutions to address business challenges
  • Collaborate with Analytics Business Analysts and key stakeholders to generate hypotheses and develop models that answer impactful business questions
  • Design and implement statistical models to extract meaningful insights from large datasets
  • Parse, cleanse, and manipulate structured and unstructured data for analysis
  • Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of models
  • Work with data sourcing teams to develop, test, implement, and maintain analytic models, including attribute identification, exploratory data analysis, and data transformation
  • Partner with business teams to review data sources, resolve inconsistencies, and validate business logic for data discovery initiatives
  • Perform advanced text, quantitative, statistical, financial, and operational analyses

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: Proven track record in data modeling using leading analytic tools and relational data structures.
  • Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, Java, and R; expertise in statistical modeling and machine learning across multiple domains.
  • Big Data Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Big Data landscape and analytical technology trends.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with IT teams, business analysts, and data sourcing specialists.
  • Languages: English – fluent in spoken and written communication.
  • Personality Competencies: Analytical mindset, proactive approach, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
  • Software Skills: Experience with ERP/Supply Chain systems and advanced analytics platforms.
