PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the Global Marketing Automation Lead, this role will serve as the primary architect and visionary for our marketing automation ecosystem. They will lead the design and execution of end-to-end solutions that drive global marketing operations. Assuming the responsibility for the technical roadmap, ensuring our infrastructure is not only efficient and scalable but also acts as a competitive advantage. Bridging the gap between high-level business strategy and technical execution, mentoring others and pioneering the use of AI-driven automation. The role will be based in our Berlin office and will be reporting to our Global Director Campaign Management & Ad Ops.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Owns the lifecycle of automation initiatives, from high-level discovery and architectural design to global deployment and optimization
- Designs and governs scalable API integration frameworks between internal data warehouses and major platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.)
- Oversees the advanced use of n8n, establishing best practices for complex logic, error handling, and security
- Leads the development of proprietary marketing tech solutions and internal tools that extend the capabilities of standard automation platforms
- Partners with Leadership in Marketing, Product, and Engineering to align the automation roadmap with core business KPIs
- Sets the standard for data integrity, compliance, and system reliability for mission-critical workflows
- Acts as the subject matter expert for AI agents and LLM integrations, proactively identifying ways to disrupt manual processes with autonomous workflows
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 6+ years of experience in automation engineering, MarTech, or software engineering with a focus on marketing ecosystems
- Technical Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and the technical intricacies of major ad-tech platforms
- Engineering Depth: Advanced proficiency in JavaScript or Python, with the ability to write production-grade code for custom integrations
- Experience with data pipelines, webhooks, or cloud-based automation infrastructure.
- Proven track record of building sophisticated, multi-step architectures in n8n, Make, or similar enterprise-grade tools
- Hands-on experience deploying AI agents or integrating LLMs into automated business processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and mentor technical team members
- A high-level strategic mindset capable of translating "blue sky" business ideas into robust technical requirements
- Having experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), CI/CD for automations, and containerization would be ideal
