Purpose of the Role
To provide IT infrastructure, POS, and end-user support for Avolta's operations in Japan, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology services for both store-based (front-office) and corporate (back-office) employees. The role partners with local operations, regional IT teams, and external vendors to support business continuity, deliver technology projects, maintain IT assets and systems, and ensure compliance with global IT standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and integrate POS systems for F&B outlets, ensuring reliable connectivity, data synchronization between store locations and back office (BOH), and compliance with local and global security standards.
- Implement, manage, and configure office IT infrastructure, including networks, internet connectivity, office applications, IP phone systems, and office equipment (e.g., computers, printers, and peripherals).
- Work with regional and global IT teams to support help desk operations for back office and store locations, providing troubleshooting, user support, and maintenance for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Oversee software management, including procurement, licensing, updates, and integration of core business applications (e.g., HRIS).
- Implement global IT policies, disaster recovery plans, and user training programs to promote efficient and secure use of technology.
- Manage local IT assets, including procurement, inventory management, and software/hardware license renewals.
- Liaise with external vendors and coordinate with internal IT teams on incident resolution and IT project deployments.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT procurement activities.
- Support local Operations leadership on IT requirements and report to the APAC IT Head on global/regional technology alignment, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures, standards, and system configurations.
- Perform other ad hoc duties and assignments as required.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a technical support or IT infrastructure support role.
- Prior POS experience within retail or F&B environments is highly preferred.
- Customer-service oriented with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in Japanese and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
