Position Overview 

We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Liquor Specialist to join our team at Perth Airport Duty Free. This operational leadership role drives liquor sales and ensures exceptional product knowledge for both customers and team members. The position optimizes category performance and elevates the customer experience through expert guidance and team development. Acting as a key contributor to store success, the role combines operational excellence with a strong focus on sales growth and premium service delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead liquor operations within Perth Airport Duty Free ensuring compliance with all liquor licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive liquor sales through effective merchandising, promotional execution, and category performance management.
  • Provide exceptional product knowledge to customers and deliver training and guidance to team members, including coordinating brand and supplier-led training sessions to enhance expertise and service quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage replenishment, and minimize shrinkage to maintain optimal stock availability.
  • Collaborate with the operations leadership team to ensure seamless store performance and alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and adherence to brand guidelines across the liquor category.
  • Liaise with liquor brands and suppliers to coordinate training sessions and ensure team members stay informed on product knowledge and category trends.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain shop standards and pricing accuracy.
  • Driving SPP in liquor.
  • Organize and oversee in-store tastings to engage customers and promote premium liquor offerings.
  • Identify and introduce new liquor brands and products to enhance the category assortment and meet customer demand.

 

Experience and Specific Requirements:

  • Previous experience in liquor retail, hospitality, or duty‑free operations.
  • Strong product knowledge across wine, spirits, and premium liquor categories, with the ability to communicate features and benefits confidently.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Flexibility to work across shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • RSA certification
  • Familiarity with liquor licensing requirements and commitment to compliance.
