PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The People & Culture Manager, Global Functions is responsible for leading and managing the HR processes for Global Functions and Avolta’s HQ. In addition to managing a department of 3 team members, s/he supports the implementation of organizational management strategies and initiatives incl. the designs of HRIS and global HR programs. The position holder manages the employee life cycle, from onboarding to exit, including succession planning, retention, performance and talent management.

The role reports to the VP HR Global Functions and is based in Basel until Q1 2027, with an expected relocation to the Zurich Airport office thereafter.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Business Partner

  • Collaborates with business leaders in Global Functions as HR business partner to support organizational and operational HR business needs
  • Provides HR expertise based on an in-depth understanding of the business
  • Ensures the communication between HR and business is timely and clear

Onboarding and Exit

  • Ensures qualitative orientation programs for new hires and employee exit review analysis
  • Finalizes offer letters and employment processes for new hires and promotions

Performance Management

  • Monitors performance and MBO process, including managing performance reviews, bonus and disciplinary processes

Learning and Development

  • Supports global business functions with onboarding, learning and development programs and succession planning

Compensation and Rewards

  • Manages payroll, social insurances and coordinates the annual salary review process
  • Maintains compliance with local regulations and legislation concerning employment
  • Maintains market focused compensation and incentives programs

Reporting

  • Is responsible for maintaining high quality HR standards as it relates to HR metrics
  • Does workforce planning and budgeting, HR controlling and reporting

General

  • Provides leadership, coaching and supervision to the competence center and participates in developing Global HR standards
  • Ensures effective personnel administration and control of HR expenditure and shared service providers within agreed budgets
  • Adapts and ensures all company policies and procedures are understood and adhered by staff and managers, while maintaining a high level of compliance with all laws and balancing the business needs within the parameters and general guidance from Avolta

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in an HR leadership role, with a strong track record of driving HR initiatives and supporting organizational growth
  • Solid experience managing HR topics for global functions, with a good understanding of international HR processes and compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of Swiss labor law and HR practices, with hands-on experience supporting HR operations in Switzerland
  • Experience working in complex, international, global matrix organizations
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and credibility; high customer focus and experience supporting change management initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience operating in dynamic, fast-paced environments with the ability to navigate continuous change and transformation
  • Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors (experience with EC, Performance, Compensation is a plus)
  • Fluency in English; German is a strong advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or Organizational Development; additional certifications or executive education are a plus
