PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Global Category Management Pricing Analyst will support the Global Category Pricing Manager and Category teams by developing analysis on cost evolution, price benchmarking, margin performance, and compliance with commercial agreements.
The role is responsible for maintaining accurate cost price databases, building templates for pricing policy guidelines, reviewing pricing simulations, and providing insights to support decision-making at category level. The position will also contribute to the correct implementation of pricing policies and support the identification of opportunities to improve margin performance.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Support the Pricing Manager and Category teams with analysis and insights on cost and retail price evolution to support decision-making and tactical initiatives.
- Analyse cost change proposals from vendors using competitive intelligence, consumer insights, and commercial agreement information.
- Review and validate cost changes together with the Pricing Manager.
- Analyse margin performance, target levels, and potential opportunities for improvement for Category validation.
- Review operations with decreasing margin and support the Category team in defining action plans and corrective measures.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the cost price database through periodic reviews.
- Ensure supplier information is kept up to date in relation to pricing, cost, and reconciliations.
- Report cost price and margin deviations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
- Act as reviewer and first-level approver of invoice discrepancies in Basware.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the correct implementation of pricing policy guidelines.
- Follow up on price implementation with the Commercial Pricing Team.
- Confirm and review product lists, including KVIs and price collection feeds.
- Calculate initial retail prices for novelties and extensions in line with pricing policy guidelines, ensuring listings are completed.
- Manage retail price setup for novelties and extensions.
- Support ad hoc actions related to cost and retail price incidences.
- Work closely with the Global Category Pricing Manager, Global Category Brand Managers, Regional Category Teams, Finance Controllers, and the Commercial Pricing Team.
- Contribute to a positive working environment through professional and collaborative interactions with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in category management and/or finance/pricing. Experience in pricing and/or finance management, preferably within the retail industry and core categories, would be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical profile with solid financial and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build, evaluate, and improve financial models,
- Strong expertise in data extraction, interpretation, and analysis across systems and regions.
- Strong financial understanding and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Fluency in English; additional languages would be considered an asset.
- Strong cross-cultural skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different regions and functions
