PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Category Manager of P&C is responsible for developing and executing the commercial plan, and implementing the category strategy for the assigned countries and brand clusters within the supported region. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency with global objectives, while also tailoring actions to local requirements and opportunities. This position is based at the Madrid Headquarters (HQ).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as key contact for a group of vendors within the EMEA region.
- Serve as key contact for a group of countries within the EMEA region.
- Support the preparation of commercial plans for countries under scope, aligned with the global category strategy, Brand Plans, and country requirements.
- Manage implementation of these commercial plans and monitor performance of the actions.
- Select novelties from the approved assortment, list them in the store, and consolidate required information for Supply Chain on a monthly basis.
- Review and refine new brand introductions from the assigned cluster in line with the global innovation strategy. Define and execute the plan of introduction, validating with the Head of Beauty.
- Review the assortment on a quarterly basis and ensure an exit strategy for delisted SKUs is implemented.
- Analyse the performance of assigned brands’ portfolio (including novelties, best sellers, promotions, or any changes) and report to the Head of Beauty.
- Collaborate with other category managers and the Head of Beauty to create the region’s promotional calendar, optimizing sales.
- Ensure implementation of the promotions program (suppliers’ submission of SKUs and fixtures, validation of concepts, stock monitoring with Supply Chain, and performance review).
- Support Vendor Management upon request from the global Brand Manager of the assigned brand cluster.
- Support central tender process when relevant to the region.
- Support category layout planning or re-planning (assortment, layout, sales, margin, investment by brand).
- Ensure coordination and delivery of refurbishments for assigned brands.
- Work in collaboration with other category managers to deliver Summer and Christmas campaigns.
- Ensure digital packages are sold to optimize the allocated budget and in line with the promotion strategy.
- Collaborate with country teams on day-to-day projects, implementations, and coordination.
- Resolve day-to-day issues in a timely and effective manner.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Category Management and/or supplier management within the Retail/Consumer Business industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in data extraction and interpretation.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and deliver accurate results.
- Flexible, reliable, and self-driven personality, with a can-do attitude. Team player.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish are essential; knowledge of French is an advantage.
